The app demands power, as it consumes a lot of it! So it’s recommended to have the most powerful iPad in your hands. We tested on an M1 machine – and it was pretty heavy for that. Thus, to summarize: you can open (or create) a project, rough edit it, and prepare it for grading, then do almost all your advanced grading within the app, which is awesome! As for the minimum requirements, you will need an iPad OS 16.0 or later and a device with the A12 Bionic chip or later. And we couldn’t emphasize more how much fan it is to color grade on a touch screen, like the iPad. You have there everything for professional color grading. As for the Color Page – this app exceeds our expectations. However, for the Cut page, you will not need Apple Pencil. Editors will still need the Edit page, and it’s very hard to edit on an iPad. Also, it will hold a rough cut for short clips as well. However, if you want just to organize and prepare your footage for color grading, then this interface will be solid for that. Hence, it’s not enough for precise editing. For now, Resolve for iPad includes ‘only’ the Cut and Color page.
